Journey to the Self is an immersive retreat in Tulum, Mexico, where jungle, ocean, and ancient wisdom come together to guide you back home - to yourself.

This experience is for the seeker standing at the edge of change.

For the soul who feels the quiet (or not-so-quiet) call to release what’s heavy, realign with their truth, and step fully onto their path.

Each day begins with intentional yoga, grounding the nervous system and opening the body to clarity and flow. Movement becomes medicine - bringing you back into your breath, your intuition, and your inner compass.

You’ll be nourished with healing, thoughtfully prepared meals, designed to support a gentle cleanse and deep restoration. Every meal is created with intention, allowing your body to detox, replenish, and feel held as true healing unfolds. We will have an onsite chef preparing meals from local ingredients and following our schedule's daily theme.

Throughout the journey, you’ll meet all versions of yourself - the one you’ve been, the one you’re releasing, and the self emerging. In sacred community, you’ll shed outdated patterns, identities, and stories that no longer serve.

A powerful temazcal ceremony, rooted in ancient Mayan tradition, will guide you through a ritual of release and rebirth. In the warmth of the sweat lodge, surrounded by prayer and earth energy, you’ll let go - and rise renewed.

I've chosen a remote spot in the jungle - somewhere for just us. Somewhere sacred, safe and ours to call home. Our retreat family will be the only people here. Private jungle, pool and jungle shala!

We are surrounded by many cenotes - these are natural limestone sinkholes in Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, where we are staying. They are considered sacred portals in the Mayan culture. They hold immense cosmological, spiritual significance, symbolising life, death, and rebirth. They are safe to swim in and are popular with visitors. We will visit one during our week - but there are plenty around for you to visit in your free time if you wish.

We’ll immerse ourselves in Mayan culture and ancestral wisdom, including a soul-stirring day trip to Chichén Itzá, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Standing on this sacred land, you’ll feel the resonance of those who walked this path long before us.

During our retreat we will experience a Temazcal sweat lodge - the Mayan way!

This is an ancient indigenous sweat lodge ritual used for physical, mental, and spiritual purification, symbolizing a rebirth through a "house of heat". Inside a small, dome-shaped stone structure, heated volcanic rocks and medicinal herb-infused steam detoxify the body, relax muscles, and connect participants to nature. Led by a Mayan Shaman, we will build up to this during the week.

The Temazcal is a representation of the womb of mother earth, and it seeks reconnection with it, the people participating in this ceremony enter it as a representation of entering the womb of mother earth and therefore has the shape of a “dome ”

This price includes:

• Three daily nourishing meals, thoughtfully prepared to support healing and accommodate all dietary requirements

• Daily yoga to move, stretch, and reset your body

• A traditional temazcal experience guided by a Mayan shaman for deep release and renewal

• Guided meditations to slow down, breathe, and tune inward

• Journaling sessions with gentle prompts for reflection and clarity

• Access to an onsite jungle gym

• Full day trip to Chichen Itza including travel and entry

• A trip to a beautiful cenote for swimming, cleansing, and reconnecting with nature

• Soul circles for open sharing, connection, and support

• Welcome ceremony with intention setting and a welcome gift

• Full moon fire ceremony under the Beaver Moon

Optional Extra costs:

• Taxi from Cancun Airport to the retreat centre - around 1 hour/1.5 hours

• Travel Insurance (mandatory - please provide Bethaney with proof of this before attending the retreat)

• Flights are not included - there are plenty of direct flights for this airport

• Any massage treatments you may have onsite (book on arrival)

• Cancun Airport, Mexico (60 minutes to the retreat)

• Tulum Airport, Mexico (30 minutes from our retreat - but this is a smaller airport so expect less flights at a higher cost)

Terms & Conditions

If you change your mind or cannot attend for any reason then you will not be entitled to a refund of your deposit. Once you begin your payments you will be entitled to 50% refund of your installments if you withdraw before 1st June 2026 (minus your deposit).

After 2nd June 2026 you will not be entitled to any refunds.

You may not resell your place to another person.

Sign Yoga will not be held responsible for any additional travel expenses incurred in preparation for cancelled retreats including airline tickets, travel delays, flight cancellations, illness, or other unforeseen events. Please ensure you have travel insurance.
