About The Event
What does it mean to do a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training?
Becoming a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) is a transformative journey that deepens your personal practice while equipping you with the skills to guide others. This certification enhances your understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology, allowing you to create safe and effective classes. Whether you aspire to teach or simply want to grow in your practice, a 200-hour RYT credential opens doors to personal growth, community connection, and career opportunities in the wellness industry.
Before we start - let's learn the lingo. YTT means Yoga Teacher Training and everyone who teaches Yoga must undergo 200 hours of training.
This is for:
Students seeking a balanced blend of traditional Hatha Yoga and modern Vinyasa Yoga.
Those who want to explore yoga beyond physical exercise and learn about its deeper philosophical, meditative, and spiritual dimensions.
Aspiring yoga teachers looking for a comprehensive and well-rounded foundation.
Practitioners who appreciate mindful movement, breath awareness, alignment, and conscious sequencing.
Beginners and experienced students who wish to deepen their understanding of yoga in a supportive and structured environment.
Those who value both the traditional roots of yoga and practical teaching methods relevant to modern practitioners.
Individuals looking for a more authentic and holistic yoga education rather than a purely fitness-oriented approach.

If BSL is not your first language or you are not from the UK - you are still welcome to join but you must be able to follow the course in BSL. No other International Sign, Interpreter or other sign lanugage will be used to lead the course - it will solely be led in BSL.
Your qualification is recognised worldwide through Yoga Alliance. Therefore, you can teach anywhere!
Why Choose Sign Yoga?
Bethaney has undergone 1100 hours of teacher training in various styles of yoga, including Vinyasa, Hatha, Aerial Yoga. She recently completed her 200 hour Meditation Teacher Training. She has experience in attending online yoga training, in person yoga training and also immersive 3 & 4 week trainings in Bali and Thailand. This is why she wants to offer you multiple options to make it accessible but also because each experience is so different!
Bethaney has been practicing yoga since 2015 and has been qualified since 2018.
With over 2500 hours of teaching classes, workshops and retreats. She has set up a school so she can train deaf people to become qualified yoga teachers in their first language, British Sign Language.
She will have a small team of other qualified yoga teachers and professionals who will cover modules and classes in BSL.
Bethaney believes in creating a ripple effect of yoga teachers across the UK and beyond to guide others on their yoga journey.
She is passionate about working with the chakras and The 8 Limbs of Yoga, which will be influenced across the course. Yoga is a tool to enhance the quality of your life but it is up to you to be disciplined, consitent and dedicated to the practice. Once you reach emobdiment you will begin to see life in a different way and the people around you will feel it too. Completing your yoga teacher training doesn't mean you have to become a yoga teacher. Many people do it for personal development and to deepn their yoga practice. Many move on to become teachers and create their own career in the wellness industry.
Ready to sign up?
If you're interested in knowing more and know you can commit to one weekend a month energetically and financially. Then please express your interest in the form and Bethaney will be in touch end of September once she has finalised the prices, dates and locations.
By expressing interest you are not committing to the course, but more to show Bethaney who has serious passion in becoming a yoga teacher. This will give Bethaney an idea of how many people are interested so she can book venues accordingly.
Please know that this is not a yoga retreat. It will be fun, exciting and there will be lots of information being shared. A Yoga Teacher Training course requires commitment. As well as a financial investment - it will require you to attend all classes both in person and on zoom. There will be homework and you will need to develop a self practice outside of the course, where you attend various yoga classes to gain experience and insight in what style you like and what kind of teacher you want to be!
You will be expected to carry out long days up to 12 hours with breaks. Again, this is not a yoga retreat - it is an intensive training schedule which requires time and energy. You will be expected to attend every session.
You don't have to use your qualification afterwards to teach - many students do a yoga teacher training to develop their understanding of yoga and deepen their yoga practice.
Important to know:
Minimum age is 18 years old
Open to all genders
Worldwide enrollment
Must have practiced yoga before and willing to embody a regular yoga practice alongside the course
Must have an understanding of British Sign Language

The course will be begin January 2027 for whatever option you choose
This is not an official sign up form - this is an introduction to what to expect to gather interest. Your place will not be saved or secured until a deposit has been received (not released yet).
Information that has been added after BSL translation video.
The online sessions will be focussed on yoga philosophy, ethics, history, anatomy, physiology etc. The inperson sessions will have more of a focus on the practical side of the YTT.
